Behind in maths? Fix the gap, not your whole year.

Falling behind usually comes down to a few missing skills, not everything. Cognitano finds exactly which ones, helps you fill them in, and then moves you forward.

Why gaps build up.

  • A missed term or a move

One gap, such as fractions, can make every later topic feel harder.

  • Moving on too fast

Classes have to keep pace. A shaky skill gets covered over, not fixed.

  • Practice that doesn’t target the gap

More questions on today’s topic don’t help if the gap is two steps back.

Your level, not your year.

Cognitano picks what you work on from what you know, never from your age or year level. If a 14-year-old needs fractions, they get fractions.

But it doesn’t look like a primary-school worksheet. Content and presentation are separate, so learners aged 10–15 get visuals, tone and wording that suit their age, whatever skill they’re on.

How catching up works.

  1. Find the gap. An assessment shows which skills are secure and which one is holding the rest back.
  2. Fill it in. Short lessons and practice on that one skill, with up to three hints when you’re stuck.
  3. Move forward. Once a skill is secure, the skills that build on it open up, so you can see yourself catching up.

For parents.

A linked parent account shows progress skill by skill, so you can see which gaps are closing. Read the parent guide.
